Carl Williams
(Guitar & backing vocals)

Carl started playing the guitar at the age of 18. Inspired by the musical prowess of Alex Lifeson (Rush), Eric Clapton and Eddie Van Halen, Carl quickly developed into a fluid and versatile player and became the lead guitarist for Stryder, a widely popular covers band who once supported a then-unknown group called Duran Duran (!).

After several years with Stryder, Carl joined White Room, an aptly-named Cream and Jimi Hendrix tribute.

Fatherhood and a semi-professional body-building career put a temporary end to Carl’s musical career, although he still enjoyed music and never missed a chance to play guitar for his friends and family.

A chat with a fellow musician at a very boring dinner party in 2005 reignited the old flame and after almost 20 years, Carl decided to pick up the guitar again.

His quest for a band began and after various unsuccessful attempts to find the right people, his attention was caught by Luca’s ad in a guitar shop. The core of the group was born. Nick Jones, formerly of pro band Theory of Everything, and Little Girl Screaming bass player Christian Pluska completed the first, official line-up of Havannah. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Carl is still a keen bodybuilder and in-between jaw-dropping guitar solos, he can be found pumping ridiculous amounts of iron down at the local gym.
